Sean’s 2021 TV Show Rankings: 76 Shows in One Comprehensive List
2021 is over and so are 76 more TV seasons in the TMB household. Just like last year, I’ve ranked every season of TV I watched this year. We have seriously upped the number of shows binged since 2020, adding in more from the reality space to “expand the pallet.” LOL. Just so we’re all on the same page, here’s the criteria I used:
Criteria:
- Show had to have a season that ended in 2021 OR contained at least 75% of their episodes in 2021. A couple shows had seasons with 8/10 episodes in 2021 but pushed into the beginning of 2022… hence the January post of this ranking.
- I ranked the 2021 season itself, not the show as a whole. The ranking of this particular season isn’t necessarily indicative of what I think of the show as a whole.
- I didn’t watch every single show in existence, although I tried! Did I watch The OC for the first time? Yes. All four seasons? Yes. Could I have been watching Wheel of Time or Your Honor instead? Yes. Did I? No. So deal with it.
- The following are the four factors (in order of importance) that I take into account when grading each season:
- How much I enjoyed the show. My enjoyment factor is the most important factor, hands down.
- How good I thought the show was. I recognize how good a show is, but this ultimately isn’t as important as how much I like it.
- Re-watchability. I like re-watching shows. A lot. If I don’t want to watch it again, deduct points.
- How it compared to previous seasons of the show (if applicable). Example: Season 5 of Game of Thrones was always going to have a lot to live up to after Season 4 and while the season sucked anyways because it was literally terrible, it only made things worse following an incredible season like Season 4.
